Leadership Lackawanna Receives Grant For Gravity Slope Colliery Project

Leadership Lackawanna GrantLeadership Lackawanna, the leadership development arm of The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, was honored on Monday, January 11, 2012 as a 2011 Lackawanna County Arts and Culture Project Grant recipient.

The grant funding will assist with Leadership Lackawanna’s Gravity Slope Colliery Authority “Oil House” restoration project in Archbald. The project will consist of interior and exterior renovations and landscaping to help preserve the historic building.

Lackawanna County Arts and Culture Department’s mission is to provide access to arts and culture for all residents of Lackawanna County. Grants are available for programs and activities that enrich the cultural life of the residents of Lackawanna County with priority given to artists who reside in the county and/or organizations that operate in Lackawanna County. Grant applications were evaluated by a panel of experts.
